Writing it down is not
the same as remembering
Who is behind Munwyn, and why it exists at all.
I am Ladi and I work as operations director at a company that services railway vehicles. The whole running of the service centre is mine: sales, inspections, purchasing, suppliers, hiring and digitisation. Which comes with an endless stream of meetings, e-mails and phone calls. Early on I designed the company’s own ERP. I taught myself to program, and whenever a tool was missing I wrote it — a register of vehicles on the tracks, for instance.
One thing I could never solve. Thoughts arrive while I am on the move and I dutifully write them down. But writing something down is not the same as remembering it. Notes lie in an app like things in a drawer, and the connection between an idea from spring and a problem I am solving in autumn stays hidden until I stumble on it by chance. Which almost never happens.
So I started building Munwyn. It is not another place to put things. It is a map of your mind where notes, thoughts and memories meet, and where AI looks for the connections that would otherwise pass you by. It works for one person and for a whole team. Because this is the most personal thing we have, the data on the server is secured and only the person it belongs to can see it. You can write a thought down with no signal, and the moment you are back online the AI picks it up. Anyone who would rather it did not can switch it off with a single decision. Step by step Munwyn is also learning to listen to meetings, because that is where the most gets lost.
